Overall a great place to fulfill your fix for Mexican or Tex-Mex. I had the 3-way tacos, 2 cabeza, bistec, and pastor tacos served with a side of delicious charro beans. Seriously, these beans were a highlight and not just an afterthought. My favorite of the tacos were the cabeza, followed by the pastor, but I could eat all 3 types again without hesitation.

My wife had their Mexican plate with a gordita, hard taco, and two enchiladas, with refried beans and rice. This place does beans so well, as they were some of the best refried beans I've had. The enchiladas were also tasty, with a great enchilada sauce on top.

Went here to get some tacos, we wanted to get just a few tacos. We ordered 2 fried shrimp tacos and they brought us out 2 "orders" of shrimp tacos which apparently means 2 plates of 4 shrimp tacos each. When we got the plates we told them and they said that I said 2 orders of tacos. I told them I didn't know that that meant 4 tacos per plate. I told them that I only wanted 2 tacos and they told me that I ordered 2 orders. Usually at this point. Restaurant would say sorry our fault for not explaining, but no they insisted that it was our fault. As we were leaving we brought it up again and the whole restaurant teamed up on us and told us that's what we ordered and they have to pay for what we ordered.

If you are looking for good customer service reconsider this place. They will order you what they want and say it's your fault. Worst experience at a restaurant.

You'll probably pass by it the first time, and then once you do find it, you might second guess yourself.  Don't.  Keep going in, you won't regret it.

We went with our two kids, and immediately upon walking in, were greeted by friendly staff and big menus.  We ordered nachos, and the salsa was so good, different from what I've had before. The blackened fish tacos were delicious!  My husband got tacos al pastor, and those were also incredibly good.  We ate it all.  Oh and the rice, best Mexican rice I've ever had.

Don't miss this during your time at SPI. You may even want to plan a second trip to come back and try something else on the menu!

Great place for authentic Mexican cuisine. The menu combinations were a bit limited but the food was excellent. Restaurant was recommended by fellow tourists on the free island bus. Quantities were large and we ended up taking a good amount of food home. All in all I'd recommend this place. Don't go by the exterior.

For starters this place is set back away from the road and not very easy to find. To make things worse their sign is small and difficult to read above the door.  It's pretty clear that this is a place that caters to the locals. They definitely do not follow any corporate model in conducting business. They run this restaurant the way they want to so you have to get on their wavelength. If you don't already know about the lunch specials they probably won't tell you. If it's your first visit it might rub you the wrong way but it's worth coming back until you understand how they do things. In other words, if you're looking for a corporate Taco Cabanna like experience, you won't find it here.
Now on to the food. They do charge for the chips and salsa and their chips are not of the thin variety and their salsa is not red but orange in color and mildly spicey and tasty. My wife had the Josh tacos and I had the four beef enchilada plate. The portions were very fresh and generous and were definitely worth the price.  They also will give you four additional sauces to add to your meal.  With tip (no drinks) we were out of there for less than $30. So on the whole of things they get five stars for the food but they really need to brush up on the lackluster waiting skills. For example, we never got a refill on our water and I would've gotten an orange soda had I known it was available. We will come back again, but this time we will better communicate our orders in advance so we don't have the same issues.
